   If you like big water, Fence Lake is one of the best options in Northern Wisconsin. The lake is over 3,400 acres, the water is deep (37 ft avg depth) and extremely clear (18 ft clarity), the fishing is good, and Fence Lake is only about 15 minutes away from Minocqua. Fence Lake is part of the Fence Lake Chain of Lakes, so if you have explored everything you want to explore on Fence Lake, you have thousands and thousands of acres of other clear waters to explore. The water views on Fence are wide open and long. Fence Lake has over 12 miles of shoreline and about 24 owners per mile. Since the lake is so big, there are almost 12 acres of water per owner.

Biking/Walking/Ski Trails:
Lac Du Flambeau Bike Route - The Lac Du Flambeau Bike Route runs on the north side of Crawling Stone Lake and offers two loop lengths (depending whether you go around Flambeau Lake or Pokegama Lake) of 7 and 11 miles from the starting point in downtown Lac Du Flambeau. There are bathroom available at the starting point. The route is a road route so it isn't a perfect biking option, but it is a marked route so drivers should be more aware of your presence than if you were on a typical back road.
Paddling Routes:
No nearby paddling routes but the Fence Lake Chain is huge and you can paddle for days enjoying the crystal clear waters the whole time. Personally, I would rather paddle the clear waters of the Fence Chain over a river any day!
Snowmobile Trails:
The Northern Hornshoe Snowmobile Club Trails run to the north and west side of Fence Lake. This trail system consists of more than 28 miles of groomed trails around Lac Du Flambeau. The trail system connects to other systems giving you access to anywhere you want to go explore on your sled.
