Island Lake is at the end of the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes. The lake is over 1,000 acres and has clear water. It isn't deep water, but it isn't as shallow as lakes on other chains either. Since Island Lake is at the end of the chain, it doesn't see as high of an amount of traffic as the other lakes on the chain. Homes on the south side of the lake of the lake are close to town. If you are on the north side of the lake it is a longer drive into town.
