   Oxbow Lake is a big, relatively deep lake with clear water. The lake is located a stone's throw away from the Wisconsin/Michigan border so it does not see a lot of activity. There are over 13 miles of shoreline on this uniquely shaped lake. Since there isn't much for low/marsh land aroudn the lake, it is developed all the way around. The lots this far north tend to be larger than the southern parts of the county so you don't have homes as close as you would if you were further south.

Biking/Walking/Ski Trails:
Pipke Park Trail System - Located just a couple minutes west of Oxbow Lake, this trail has loops of 1.5 and 2.8 miles.

Presque Isle - Pomeroy - Henry Trails - Just to the west of the lake in nearby Presque Isle, this system consists of over 100 miles of gravel roads for mountain biking.

Presque Isle / Winchester Bike Route - This paved trail system starts in Presque Isle and can very from 4 to 10 miles depending on the route you take.

Presque Isle Nature Trail - A hiking trail that winds through the forest and past some neighboring lakes. This trail is also located in Presque Isle.

Catherine Wolter Wilderness Area - A hiking/skiing/snowshoe trail of varying lengths located right next to the east side of Oxbow Lake. Trails wind through a huge wilderness area and around many small lakes.
Paddling Routes:
No nearby routes but Oxbow Lake is a really nice paddling lake. There are miles of shorelines and lots of nooks and crannies to explore.
Snowmobile Trails:
The Presque Isle / Winchester Sno Bunnies trails can be accessed to just to the west and south of Oxbow Lake.
