Sandy Beach Lake

   Sandy Beach Lake is a 110-acre lake in the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest with a maximum depth of 13 feet and an average depth of 7 feet. The lakebed is almost entirely sand, creating broad sandy shallows ideal for swimming and paddling. A public boat landing, campground, and day-use area support boating, camping, and picnicking. The lake hosts walleye, musky, panfish, largemouth bass, and northern pike, and its largely undeveloped, pine-fringed shoreline offers a classic beach-lake setting.
