Scattered Rice Lake

   Scattered Rice Lake is a shallow, marsh-bordered lake north of Crandon with stretches of emergent vegetation and a more wild, open look than tightly hemmed-in kettle lakes. The shoreline is a mix of lowland, scattered high ground, and pockets of development, so much of the view is reeds, grasses, and sky. Boat traffic tends to be light and dominated by anglers and paddlers. It's ringed by emergent vegetation and lowland, so much of what you see from the boat is reeds, grasses, and sky. It's a good choice for small boats and kayaks, especially for anglers who like prowling through rice beds and weed clumps.
