Willow Flowage

   The Willow Flowage is a big flowage about a half hour west of Rhinelander. The water is not very clear or deep. Willow Flowage is a vast 6,000-plus-acre flowage west of Minocqua, widely recognized as one of Wisconsin's top destinations for big-water wilderness-style fishing. With more than 70 miles of largely undeveloped shoreline, numerous islands, and sprawling bays, it offers a remote, wild feel unusual for a system this accessible by car. Much of the surrounding land is public, giving anglers and paddlers long stretches of unbroken forest and marsh to explore without dense residential development. It's a sprawling 6,000-plus-acre flowage west of Minocqua and north of Tomahawk, known for its low shoreline development, maze of bays and islands, and strong fishing reputation.
